The Lviv residential complex Greenville Prostir received the Ukrainian Construction Olympus award. It was recognized as the best suburban complex in the Lviv region.
The Ukrainian Construction Olympus award was established in 2006. Every year it awards companies that successfully operate in the domestic construction market, recognized construction brands, as well as new buildings that are distinguished by a unique design, architecture, scale, etc.
This year, the award was summed up on December 18, awarding a number of projects in various nominations with diplomas. The organizers of the event emphasized that Greenville Prostir embodies the architectural and construction concept of “a city within a city”: autonomy, successful integration of green areas into residential space, original modern architectural style and developed infrastructure.
What is a “city within a city”?
Modern cities and business development create a wide range of services for residents. The main goal of the “city within a city” idea is to concentrate as many of them as possible in a person’s place of residence. In other words, it is a form of organizing living space that combines residential, office and commercial real estate in one area. Basic needs can be met without spending a lot of time moving around the city. An additional option is green areas, terraces, alleys, lounge space, sports and children’s playgrounds.
Also, thanks to this approach, the impact of negative factors of a big city, for example, commuter migration, is reduced. A person saves the main resource of today – time. You can drink coffee on the first floor of your house, visit a beauty salon or fitness club there, take your child to kindergarten on the territory of the residential complex, and leave your car in the underground parking lot. If there is a need to go somewhere on business, then the convenience of the location and transport interchange easily solves this task.
“Thus, a person himself forms a circle of social interaction. Comfort, safety, convenience come to the fore. The idea of a “city within a city” is the involvement of the resident in the local community, in a sense of peace and security, and the fulfillment of basic life needs,” notes Yuriy Matviyev, chief architect of the Greenville group of companies.
The main advantages of the concept
The list of advantages for residents of such residential complexes is as follows.
Autonomy of life. Undoubtedly, when any necessary institution or facility is at a distance of “10 minutes in slippers” – this is a huge advantage. The importance of such an approach increases during power outages, because you can work from the nearest cafe, where there is a generator.
Saving resources. The first thing that a resident of the “city in the city” saves is personal time. Due to the fact that everything is nearby, a car or public transport is minimally needed.
Security. Underground parking, video surveillance, concierge, frame-monolithic construction of the house.
Energy-efficient technologies. Thanks to the quality of building materials and their rational use, heat loss in the apartment in winter will be minimal. Therefore, there is an opportunity to save on utility bills.
Material value. Typically, housing in such new buildings remains liquid for a long time, unlike the Soviet/post-Soviet housing stock.
Residential Quarter in the Suburbs: A New Successful Case from Greenville
In the spring, construction of Greenville Prostir began in Lysynichi, a suburb of Lviv. Among the advantages of the complex are low-rise buildings, a modern architectural style, developed infrastructure, and a large internal area.
The company emphasizes that they are not just building another residential complex, but are creating a new atmosphere for the Lviv suburbs – cozy, comfortable for people, and at the same time modern and innovative. Lysynichi is an extremely advantageous location. It is quiet and peaceful here, close to nature, and the city center can be reached in 15 minutes by public transport. The project is large-scale – almost 10 hectares of territory, 40 houses are planned, well-thought-out infrastructure, car-free courtyards, 4-story buildings, and a wide range of apartments. Efforts have been directed at the development of Greenville Prostir for more than one year.
The residential complex is being built using modern monolithic-frame technology, which ensures the reliability and durability of the buildings. The project provides for underground parking, equipped shelter, individual heating. High-quality and wear-resistant materials from Ukrainian and international manufacturers are used in the construction process, adapted to different climatic conditions.
The interior of the complex is designed taking into account the needs of residents of different ages and lifestyles. The territory includes a park area for active recreation, co-working and lounge spaces, areas for playing chess and table tennis, modern children’s and sports grounds, a football field, as well as developed commercial infrastructure. Thanks to this, the complex functions as a self-sufficient living space.
A special advantage of the Greenville Prostir residential complex is the bookcrossing area, which encourages residents to exchange books, as well as an amphitheater for open-air film screenings, concerts, cultural events and various events.
By implementing this project, the team of architects, engineers, and builders of the Greenville group of companies strives to create a modern environment that combines comfortable living, opportunities for work, leisure, raising children, and the harmonious development of residents.
